Teater Leikhus

Teater Leikhus creates experiential theatre. These are performances that play with interactivity and form, inviting the audience into the material. The company's goal is to create performances that are immersive, emphasizing the presence of both artists and audience-members. We attempt to create temporary communities in our spaces. Leikhus celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 and has, since its start, created a number of productions that have been performed both in Norway and abroad.

The Crowd

The Crowd is about being one among many.

The performance starts with the audience receiving headphones and being told that they are free to move around. There are some objects in the space, but there are no performers. Through the headphones they will hear monologues and soundscapes. Different voices tell stories or observations about the loneliness or the joy they experience while being part of different groups or crowds. Each audience member has a unique combination of texts they’ll hear. The voices will sometimes give the audience suggestions of practical things they could be doing.

While listening, while making decisions, together the audience becomes a crowd.

The Crowd has been performed over 50 times for both adults and young audiences, as well as mixed audiences of different ages.
